Starved Rock Airtours, is a
helicopter tour of the Starved Rock State Park. Located on the Illinois River between LaSalle Peru and Ottawa, Starved Rock State Park is one of the state's most visited sites. The 125-foot high sandstone butte was named in the 1760's for the Illiniwck who, having taken refuge on top of the rock to escape enemy warriors, starved to death rather than face enemy capture.
